Austin Lee Cunningham, age 29, of Mayfield, born on July 10, 1996, in Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on March 16, 2026, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, Kentucky. Austin’s vibrant spirit and loving heart touched the lives of many throughout his short but impactful life.

Austin was a free-spirited and generous individual, wise beyond his years with an old soul’s depth. He approached life with caution yet never judged a book by its cover, always displaying kindness and warmth. He was known for his joyous nature and loving heart.  He found great happiness in connecting with others.

Music was a central part of Austin’s life. He had a profound love for all types of music, finding joy and comfort in melodies and rhythms. Concerts were special occasions where he felt truly alive, and his passion for music was matched only by his love of travel and the outdoors. Cooking was also a passion that stood alongside his love of music.  In the kitchen, he found another way to express himself, using food to bring people together and create meaningful moments with those he cared about.  These interests defined much of who he was and how he chose to embrace the world around him.

  1. Austin was deeply devoted to his family, cherishing every moment with them. He is survived by his beloved wife, Brittany Caylor, who stood by his side with unwavering love. Together, they were blessed with two children: a son, Lucas Axxel Lee Cunningham, and a daughter, Apphia Rhiannon Hope Cunningham. Austin’s presence as a father was an enduring and tender bond, one that shaped and enriched their lives profoundly.

He also leaves behind his father, Bobby L. Cunningham, and mother, Shelly R. Gonzales, who nurtured and supported him throughout his journey. Austin shared close relationships with his brothers Andrew (Ashley) Langdon, TJ Gonzales, Blake Gonzales, and Logan Gonzales, as well as his sister Rosey Gonzales. Among those he considered like brothers were Justin Williams, Ellas Mobley, and Caleb Mobley, fellow companions who stood by him as chosen family. His legacy also continues through several nieces and nephews who cherished their uncle.

Austin’s family mourns the loss of his brother, Justin Lee Cunningham, who preceded him in death. The memory of Justin remains a cherished part of Austin’s story and family history.
