Christine Michelle Hardman

Christine Michelle (née Thurston) Hardman, 52, a resident of Murray, Kentucky, passed away in the early morning hours of May 30, 2025, with her daughter and grandchild by her side. Christine was born on October 26, 1972, to her parents, Linda (née Gilbert) Egnatowski and Randy Thurston, in New Hartford, New York. However, she spent most of her adult life in Michigan and Missouri, where she raised her children before relocating to her current home after the death of her son.

Preceded in death by her son Zac and her mother, she now leaves behind her loving children, Ryan and Kaitlynn; her favorite and only granddaughter, Hazel; and siblings Michael, Jeremy, Angela, and Carrie.

In life, Chris was a sardonic yet caring woman who rarely said no to someone in need—even stepping up to care for her younger sister, Carrie, when their mother passed away. When her children were young, she attended night school to become a CNA, leaving a lasting impact on the elderly patients she served. Later, she became an entrepreneur, turning her love of cooking into a successful restaurant in the heart of a small town. There, she made it a point to employ people who had fallen on hard times, offering them stability and a new path forward.

After closing the restaurant to pursue other creative endeavors, she began baking delicious desserts for the community, contributing to countless special occasions and becoming a cherished and important part of many lives. Through it all, she was a devoted mother who loved her children unconditionally and did everything in her power to help them find success and happiness.

There will be no public services, as the family has chosen to grieve in private. In lieu of gifts, the family asks that donations be made to Mid-America Transplant, Donate Life America, or that loved ones register as organ donors in honor of her son, Zachary Thurston.
