In Loving Memory of Cynthia Phillips-Hodge

Cynthia Phillips-Hodge, a beloved mother, teacher, and caretaker, passed away on August 25, 2023. She was known for her warm heart and caring nature, making a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her. Cynthia was a member of Southland Baptist Temple.

Cynthia's career spanned various roles, showcasing her dedication and versatility. She began as a cosmetologist at the Wedgewood Beauty Salon, where she used her skills to help others feel confident and beautiful. Her passion for education led her to become a teacher and activities leader at the Southland Baptist Day Care and later at the Western Baptist Childcare. Cynthia's nurturing spirit extended beyond childcare as she embarked on a new adventure as an over the road truck driver at US Express Drivers. Even while on the road, she found joy in connecting with people from all walks of life.

As an independent childcare provider, Cynthia poured her heart and soul into shaping young minds. Her commitment to education was evident during her time as a teacher at Little Bo Peep. She loved watching children learn and grow, leaving an indelible impression on their lives.

Completing cosmetology school was one of Cynthia's proudest accomplishments. It allowed her to pursue her passion for beauty and empower others through it.

Cynthia truly cherished her son Caleb. He was the center of her universe, and she dedicated herself to providing him with support and unconditional love. Caleb brought immense pride and joy to Cynthia's life.

Cynthia's legacy lives on through those she leaves behind. In addition to Caleb, she is survived by her sister Wanda Paris (JR) of Smithland, KY, her sister Sheila Goodaker (Darryl) of Smithland, KY, and her sister Connie Monroe (Jimmy) of Smithland, KY. Cynthia also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish their memories with her.

Her parents Alfred "Red" Phillips and Marie Phillips, who provided unwavering love throughout her life, preceded her in death.
