Doug Carter, 75, of Paducah passed away on May 13, 2024, at Mercy Health Hospital in Paducah, Kentucky. He was born on January 10, 1949, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late David and Ruth Carter.
Doug led a life filled with passion and enthusiasm for classic cars. His outgoing personality endeared him to all who his path crossed; he never met a stranger and took delight in engaging with fellow car enthusiasts and exchanging knowledge. As a member of various car clubs, Doug found joy in attending car shows, attending drag racing events, and exploring new destinations through his travels. However, above all else, his greatest joy came from spending time with his eight cherished grandchildren.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Ann Carter; two sons, Kevin Carter of Paducah and Daniel Eichler (Natalie) of Colorado Springs; his daughter, Lynn Muse (Myron) of Nashville; and his eight adored grandchildren; Makenna Carter, Norah Carter, Alyssa Carter, Ty Carter, Eli Carter, Shawn Muse, Tesla Muse, and Leonardo Eichler.
As friends and family gather to bid farewell to Doug Carter, they are invited to attend the visitation services at Southland Baptist Temple on Sunday, May 19th from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The funeral service will take place the following day, Monday, May 20th at 1:30 PM at the church, with Jonathan Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah.
Doug's legacy of kindness, passion for cars, and love for his family will forever be cherished by those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
