Gene Mcguins

Gene McGuins age 83 of Paducah passed away Wednesday January 4, 2017 at 10:25 A.M. at his residence.

Gene was a native of Marshall County, KY. and a member of the Southland Baptist Temple. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Gene during his working career, worked as a supervisor for the International / Florsheim Shoe Factory for 24 years. When the shoe factory closed he went to the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad as an Electrician. Gene also was owner and operator of Gene's Tropical Fish, and Gene's Small Engine Shop. He is survived by his wife, Doris Dooms McGuins. One daughter, Twyla Case (James )of Reidland, Ky. Two sons, Tim McGuins ( Teresa ) of Calvert City and Kent McGuins (Eva ) of Carrsville, KY. One daughter-in law, Stephanie McGuins of Ledbetter, KY. One sister, Pat Tubbs of Benton, KY. and two brothers, Jimmy Russell Jones of Gilbertsville, KY. Jerry Don Jones of Benton. Eight grandchildren, Shawn Case ( Emily ) of VA., Josh Case (Stephanie) of TN., Jason Combs, of Murray, Josh Combs of LA. ,Jordan Combs of OH., Stacey Ragsdale ( Chris ) of Calvert City, Rain Marie Carroll of GA., Amber Michele Chandler ( Coby ) of Ledbetter, KY. Nine great grandchildren, Levi, Alex, Bennett, Keira, Grayson, Rider, Jackson, Avery and Ethan. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sandra McGuins and two sons, Phillip McGuins and Jeff McGuins. One brother, Tommy Jones and his parents, Sam McGuins and Rosetta Jones McGuins.

Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday January 7, 2017 at the Benton City Cemetery in Benton, KY. with the Rev. Topper Council officiating. Friends may visit with the family at Keeling Family Funeral Home from 11:00 A.M. till Noon on Saturday January 7, 2017.
