Jeanette Evelyn Collier

Jeanette Evelyn Brown Collier, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on April 13, 2025, in Paducah, at the age of 71. Born in Akron, Ohio, to the late Betty Nye and Walter Brown, Jeanette's journey through life was marked by her kindness, compassion, and love for her family.

Jeanette graduated from John R Buchtel High School in Akron, OH, and later moved to Florida with her family. In her later years, she relocated to Paducah, to be closer to her son, Thomas Fairhurst, and her cherished grandsons, Jeremy, Brandon, and Michael Fairhurst.

She is also survived by her two brothers, Walter "Buddy" Brown of Quincy, FL, and Heath Brown of NC, as well as her four sisters, Merri Bliss of Leesburg, FL, Cheri Jenkins of FL, Nancy Nipper of FL, and Judy Garces of NC.

In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Collier; and one brother, Christian Brown.

Renowned for her infectious laughter and warm hugs, Jeanette took great pride in sharing the accomplishments of her son and grandsons with anyone who would listen. An avid lover of turtles, she amassed a remarkable collection of turtle memorabilia, endearingly earning the nickname "The Turtle Lady." Her generous spirit extended to all she knew, always ready to support those in her life with kindness and compassion.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life service on  Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at The Church of Woodlawn, 3402 Benton Road, Paducah, KY 42003, from 6:00-8:00pm.
