Judith Kay Collier, 81, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, May 30, 2025 at her home. Judy was born on November 26, 1943, to the late Lloyd and Evelyn Jones.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jerry Collier; her children Cara Collier of Bruceville, IN, Beth Hartley of Sturgis, KY, Scott (Tammie) Collier of Boulder City, NV, and Kelli (Jeff) Ellermann of Paducah, KY; 9 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; one sister, Wanda Perry of Oak Hill, WV and one brother, Lloyd Jones. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by two siblings.
Judy was naturally kind, respectful, and caring of others. She loved flowers and making things beautiful. She was often described as pure of heart, well known for giving big hugs, and baking her famous apple slices and pumpkin cookies. Her dedication and solid faith to God, family, and friends was unwavering with a true passion to make others feel better about themselves.
Judy’s career as an Administrative Assistant started with the Federal Government in Washington DC, then Mt Hope, WV before moving to Vincennes, IN, where she ended her career as a beloved school secretary at Franklin Elementary. In her true spirit of helping others, Judy spent her retirement years as a BeautiControl Consultant and served as a Stephen Ministry Volunteer for First Baptist Church in Vincennes.
A graveside service honoring Judy will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Beckley, West Virginia with Ralph Castle officiating on Monday, June 9th at 11am.
As a continuation of Judy’s research study participation, the family requests that expressions of sympathy be shown through contributions to Alzheimer’s Research at alz.org (http://alz.org/). It was her greatest hope to help find a cure for future generations.
