Laura Hicks

With deep sorrow and profound respect, we announce the passing of Laura Hicks, age 64 of Paducah, who left this life on May 4, 2026, at Mercy Health Lourdes in Paducah, Kentucky.

Laura was born on December 25, 1961, to George and Rebecca Gasser. Being the youngest of six children, Laura quickly learned to speak up and speak loudly. She was never shy to tell you exactly what she thought. She was a proud Paducah Tilghman Class of 1980 graduate and was always happy to tell others that her grandbabies went to Tilghman too!

Laura devoted many years of her professional life in the medical office field, always showing care and compassion to the patients she served. She had a servant’s heart and enjoyed doing for others. Laura was a past member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and had attended Christ Community Church in recent years. Laura loved the Lord and her faith enriched her life and the lives of those around her.

Laura is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Traci Thomasson of Paducah, her four adored granddaughters, Rosie, Kilee, Cassidy, and Chayse Minter all of Paducah. Two Sisters, Karen Wallace (Kenny) of Paducah, Tammy Hart of Paducah, and several nieces and nephews. Their lives are forever touched by Laura’s warmth, kindness, and strength.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Van Stephen Dailey and Brad Gasser, and one sister Sharon Bement.

Her memorial journey will be marked by a visitation at Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home, located at 2410 Jackson Street, Paducah, KY 42003, on May 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This will be followed by a funeral service officiated by Bro. Tim Smith, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A private inurnment will take place on a later date at Mt. Kenton Cemetery, Paducah, KY 42001.

As family, friends, and community come together to honor Laura’s memory, they celebrate a life well-lived—a life marked by commitment, faith, and unwavering love. Her legacy remains a beacon of compassion and service in the heart of Paducah.
