Linda Sheryl Goins

Linda Sheryl Goins, a beloved member of her community and a cherished matriarch of her family, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Baptist Health Hospital Paducah, at the age of 79. Linda was born on January 10, 1946, in Harlan County, KY, to Sam and Ila Farris, who, along with her loving husband, Bart Goins, preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her brother: Sam Farris; and her sister: Anita Bobbie Taylor.

Linda was known for her warm spirit and vibrant personality, which shone brightly through her many passions and interests. As an active member of the Cumberland Church of God, she found great joy in her faith and community. She greatly enjoyed sitting on her back porch with a cup of coffee, relishing the moments of tranquility that life offered. Her creative pursuits included taking ceramic classes, which allowed her to express herself artistically. Linda was also fond of the great outdoors, spending cherished moments at the lake and beach. Her love for woodworking and baking highlighted her practical skills and her ability to bring joy to those around her through her craft.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Linda held a deep affection for her family, especially her seven grandchildren, Amber Goins, Nathan Goins, Mallori Harris, Natalee Harris, Emily Goins, Elijah Goins, and Emersyn Goins. Linda also leaves behind her son, Ricky Goins (Rebeca) of Charlotte, NC; her daughter, Kristi Harris (Chris) of Paducah; her brothers Jerry Farris (Nancy) of MI; her sister, Rita Staley of Knoxville, TN; her sister-in-law, Cecelia Farris of Harlan, KY; a special brother-in-law: Joe Goins (Angelia); and many other loving family members.

Linda Sheryl Goins will be remembered for her zest for life, her nurturing spirit, and her unwavering love for her family. She touched the hearts of many and will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
