It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lori Lynne Smith, 60, of Paducah. Lori was born on January 9th, 1964, in Owensboro, Kentucky, and peacefully departed from this world on March 13th, 2024, at Oakview Nursing and Rehab in Calvert City, Kentucky.
Lori was a woman of unwavering faith, aligning herself with the Baptist beliefs and finding solace and community as a member of Southland Baptist Temple. Her devotion to her faith echoed through all aspects of her life.
One could often find Lori immersed in her hobbies and interests; she found joy in the simple pleasures of life. From listening to Christian music that uplifted her spirit to being her son's biggest cheerleader on the baseball field, every moment she spent with her loved ones was cherished. Her love for family extended to basking in the warmth of the sun on sandy shores, embracing the beauty of the ocean.
In the hearts of those who knew her best, Lori will forever hold a place filled with love and fond memories. She leaves behind a world that was made brighter by her presence.
Lori is survived by her beloved husband, Kenneth Smith of Paducah; her son, Matt Smith (Cassie) of Kevil; grandchildren, Logan and Caleb Smith; her father, Phillip Shoulta of Paducah; brothers, Robert "Dobber" Shoulta (Sara) of Barlow and Mark Shoulta (Cindy) of Benton; along with a host of other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her son, Brandon Michael Smith and her loving mother, Bonnie Shoulta.
Services to honor and celebrate Lori's life will be held at Southland Baptist Temple in Paducah. Visitation will take place on Sunday, March 17th from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Monday, March 18th from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A Memorial Service will begin at 5:00 PM on Monday with Pastor Larry Luffman and Jonathan Goodman officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
