Makayla Lynn Maiden, age 17 of Paducah died September 30, 2022 at Baptist Health in Paducah. She was born the daughter of David Maiden, and the late Patti Honsinger. She was being raised by her custodial grandparents: Rich and Jenny Obermark of Paducah. She was a senior at McCracken County High School. Makayla was a very gifted artist that loved to paint, sketch, and draw. Her artwork included everything from scenic paintings to fashion design of clothes. She was a musician that played multiple instruments including drums, piano and guitar. She studied Jiu Jitsu, and karate, and loved skateboarding. She loved to write poetry and for her age, many older adults considered her an articulate conversationalist. She was a member of Southland Baptist Temple.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 10, 2022 at Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home in Paducah with Pastor Jimmy Franks officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Kenton Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her brothers: Trenton Brunston of Wickliffe, and Lane Brunston, also of Wickliffe; her sister: Jade Maiden of Paducah.
Makayla became an organ donor that will allow her to provide life for many others through her donation. Kentucky Organ Donor Association facilitated the donation.
