Mike Clark

Mike Clark, age 77 of Paducah, died Monday, February 5, 2018 at Lourdes Hospital.  He was born the son of the late James Edward Clark and the late Francis Pauline Givens Clark.  He was a retired school teacher having a tenure of 34 years in the classroom.  He taught at Lone Oak High School for 27 years and also coached boys and girls basketball, football and track.  He also served as principal of Community Christian Academy.  Prior to his teaching career, he was a game warden in Davidson County, Tennessee.  He was a member of the Lone Oak Church of Christ, and was a Kentucky Colonel. 

Memorial services will be at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Lone Oak Church of Christ with Paul Wingfield officiating.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the memorial hour, Wednesday, February 7, 2018.  Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.  

He is survived by his wife: Nancy Kelly Clark of Paducah; his son: Michael Clark (Adrienne) of Lone Oak; his daughters: Annita Kay Stewart (Darrell) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; Krisa Clark Conkwright (Jeff) of Boaz; his sister: Brenda Kay Clark Moore (Alva) of Kingston, Tennessee; his grandchildren: Nate Stewart (Malinda), Brecksyn Clark Mixon (Brian), Alex Clark, Abigail Clark, Lily Clark Mendiola (Kenny), Cole Smith; his great grandchildren: Austin Stewart, Tara Stewart, John Michael Mendiola, and Maverick Jacob Mendiola.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I loved Coach Clark and I am better for having been a part of his basketball team while I was in high school. He taught me many life lessons that have served me well for years. I know he touched countless others and he will live in our hearts forever.

Nancy and children, I am so sorry to learn of Mike's passing. He was a fine man and a fine friend. He was one of a few teachers at Lone Oak that I considered a true friend. My prayers are with you that you are wrapped in God's peace, love, strength and comfort. I was out of town yesterday.

Betty and I have known Mike and Nancy for more than 50 years. Both have been awesome Christians for as long as we have known them. We are sorry that we were unable to be associated with them for the past several years..

Nancy, Brenda and family, So sad to see that Mike had died on Monday. I had the opportunity to visit with him as we ran into each other before Christmas. He was a true Christian gentleman and I am honored to have known him for so many years.My thoughts and prayers go to each of you. I know he will be missed terribly. I had the privilege of getting to know Mike through coaching. I was blessed to know him and be able to work with him. Mike was such a fine Christian man who was loved by so many.

Very sorry to hear of Mike's passing. He was always my favorite basketball coach, one of the first ones to give me a chance. He was a very thoughtful and kind Christian man who has gone to his reward. He will be greatly missed!
