Nancy Carolyn Burch

Nancy Carolyn (Byrd) Burch, 89, of Paducah passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Cedarhurst Senior Living in Nicholasville, KY, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on April 16, 1937, in Graves County, KY, the daughter of the late Thomas and Virginia (Spalding) Byrd.

Nancy was a devoted Catholic and faithful member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Paducah. Her faith was a guiding presence throughout her life and was reflected in the love and kindness she showed to those around her. Above all, Nancy treasured her family and friends and found great joy in the relationships she shared with them.

Nancy’s memory will be treasured by those she leaves behind. Surviving are her sons, Thomas Burch and his wife, Janna of Indian Trail, NC, Matthew Burch and his wife, Sharlee of Lexington, KY, and Carl Johnson and his wife, Anna of Washington, NC; her three sisters, Patricia Howard and her husband, Tony of Louisville, KY, Rita Byrd of Ft. Thomas, KY, and Kathryn Clayton and her husband, Don of Alexandria, LA; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Francis "Frank" Burch, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 5645 Blandville Road, Paducah, KY 42001. A Funeral Mass will start promptly at 12:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 4149 Old Mayfield Road, Paducah, KY 42003. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Vincent de Paul, 2025 Cairo Road, Paducah, KY 42001.

Nancy will be remembered for her caring heart, her devotion to those she loved, and the quiet, steady presence that meant so much to her family and all who knew her.
