Ricky D Hall

Ricky D. Hall

Ricky Dean Hall, age 59, of Smithland died Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY.

He was born in Marion, KY on May 21, 1958 to the late Ray Hall and Goldie Knight Hall.

At age 9, Ricky was injured in a car accident, leaving him unconscious for 36 days and was sent home on a feeding tube with brain damage.  With lots of prayer and faith, Ricky finally regained consciousness, and was able to relearn to walk, talk and feed himself.  He never drove a car, balanced a checkbook, had a date, or was able to do most of the things men did; but Ricky spread cheer everywhere he went.  Ricky had a double portion of laughter and good humor.  Ricky loved to give nicknames to all his friends.  He never missed church, even if he had to walk.  He loved to ride his bike and help senior citizens.  Art was his favorite hobby and he loved the Kentucky Wildcats!

He is survived by his brothers: Jimmie Hall (Vanessa) of Paducah and Lannie Hall (Gail) of Smithland; his sister: Margaret Hall Shelton (Chris), and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Bennie Hall.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 1, 2017, at Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home in Paducah; his beloved sister, Margaret Shelton will give the eulogy.  Visitation will be Saturday, July 1, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.  Burial will follow in Cothern Cemetery on HWY 453 in Smithland with Pastor Carrie Cowell officiating at the cemetery.

Ricky was always a joy to be around. He made me laugh every time I saw him. He was a definite answer to my prayers. He became a good friend to my uncle Randy and was a great roommate with him at Parkview. Ricky loved Randy and everyone around him. He made everyone smile. He will truly be missed. He's walking with the Lord now. Your family is in my prayers.
