Ritchie N. Freeman, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on June 19, 2026, at Baptist Health Paducah, closing a vibrant 60-year journey spent spreading kindness, friendship, and joy. Born on April 3, 1966, in Paducah, Ritchie’s warmth and vitality touched countless lives in his hometown and far beyond.
From an early age, Ritchie’s outgoing nature and charm were unmistakable. He never met a stranger, and to know him—even briefly—was to be counted as a friend. He delighted in greeting everyone he came across, always offering a firm handshake or a gentle kiss on the hand to the ladies. Known for his endearing charisma, Ritchie truly was a charmer, making lasting memories with the thousands he met during his life.
Ritchie’s educational journey was marked by steadfast commitment to community and growth. He attended the Marshall County Exceptional Center from 1985 to 2022. More recently, he was a participant in programs at Easterseals West Kentucky Adult Services, where his friendships continued to flourish up to the present time. These environments became like extended families for Ritchie, providing him with opportunities for learning, socializing, and sharing his unique perspective with those around him.
Ritchie’s passions filled his days with joy and excitement. He had a special love for McDonald’s, often delighting in his favorite meals. Cars of every kind fascinated him, and his enthusiasm for professional wrestling was contagious. Fishing and the great outdoors brought him peace and happiness, and he cherished every chance to cast a line in the company of friends and nature. One of Ritchie’s fondest memories was receiving an official race car suit from Tim Brown—a gift that symbolized not just his passion for racing, but the many ways people honored and celebrated his spirit.
Family was always at the center of Ritchie’s life. He is survived by his loving sibling, Steve Freeman (Ladonna) of Paducah. Their devotion and care surrounded him, providing constant encouragement and support along with Ritchies daily caregivers for over 23 years, Richard and Rebecca Rhea and his niece Tiffany Streetman (Austin) of Symsonia.
Ritchie was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Avery Freeman and Norma Freeman, who instilled in him the values of generosity and resilience, as well as his sibling, Guthrie W. Freeman, whose memory remained close to his heart.
Ritchie’s legacy is one of connection. He believed in the power of kindness, and through every handshake, he built a community that will forever remember his open-hearted approach to life. Even after his passing, Ritchie's kindness continued through donation with Network of Hope, helping improve the lives of others.
Friends and family are invited to honor Ritchie’s memory. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home, 2410 Jackson Street, Paducah, KY 42003. A second visitation will take place on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the same location, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 AM wit Bro. Glenn Stewart officiating. Graveside services will follow at Fooks Cemetery, 926 Mt Moriah Rd, Benton, KY 42025.
Ritchie’s spirit remains undimmed in the many hearts he touched—with each memory, story, and gentle greeting, his legacy of warmth and inclusion endures.
