Robert Wallace Hodge

September 16, 1928 — November 19, 2014

Well done good and faithful servant, enter now into the joy that I have prepared for you. Robert (Bob ) Wallace Hodge age 86 of Stewart, TN. heard these words as his Lord and Savior called him to Heaven on November 19, 2014 from the Centennial Hospital  in Nashville, TN.

Mr. Hodge was born on September 16, 1928 to the late George Wallace Hodge and Grace Bell Yackle Hodge. He was a faithful and dedicated member of the Hurricane Creek Baptist Church in Stewart where he loved to play his guitar and sing, he also taught Sunday School and served as a deacon. He  served his country in the United States Navy. Mr. Hodge was a retired from the riverboat industry, he had been on the river since he was 13 years old.  He served as captain for over 50 years. He retired from the M.G. Transport Service. While working he worked for Gulf Oil, Rose Barge Line, Walker Towing, Fur River, Pillsbury, Chromeloy, Igert and Hoagland Barge Lines. He was also was captain for the Delta Queen, American Queen and the Mississippi Queen. He was presently working for the New Johnsonville Marina. He is survived by his two daughters, Cynthia ( Cindy ) Sue Warner of Paducah and Amy Lou Ross (Todd ) of Tennessee Ridge, TN. Three brothers, Billy Hodge, Larry Hodge  both of Brookport, IL. and Jackie Hodge of West Paducah, KY. Grandchildren Janet Catherine Hartman ( Darrell )James Matthew Warner, Barry Todd Ross (Maria ), and Rachel Ross. Two great grandchildren, Logan Thomas Hartman and Joshua Bryce Hartman. Several bro in laws, sisters in laws, nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Bryant Hodge, son, Robert Barry Hodge, two brothers and three sisters.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 22, 2014 at the Keeling Family Funeral Home 2410 Jackson Street Paducah, KY. 42003 with the Rev. Robert Spurgeon officiating. Burial will follow in the Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family today Friday Nov. 21, 2014 from 200 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
