Rona Hale Butts, born on September 20, 1933, in Fulton, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on May 30, 2026, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was a devoted homemaker whose life was defined by her warmth, kindness, and dedication to those she loved.
Rona began her life's journey in the close-knit town of Fulton, and throughout her years, she nurtured her many passions with joy and enthusiasm. She was a proud homemaker and enjoyed collecting and selling antiques, a hobby that reflected her love for history and beauty. Rona was also known as a great cook, delighting family and friends with her culinary talents. Among her cherished memories is the fabulous Orange Slice Cake she made, a testament to her skill and care in the kitchen. She also had a green thumb, lovingly tending to the potted plants around her home, including geraniums and petunias, which flourished under her attentive care.
Beyond her hobbies and interests, she was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church, where her faith and community participation were deeply valued.
Rona’s family was the center of her world. She is survived by her daughter, Lita Buie (Charles) of Paducah; her sisters, Sandra Bolin of Winter Springs, Florida, and Brenda Pulley (Terry) of Fulton, Kentucky; her sister-in-law, Peggy Hale of Chicago, Illinois; and her grandchild, Lindy Buie (Wren Harmon). These loved ones carry forward her legacy of love and resilience.
She was predeceased by her mother, Olive Hale; her husband, Joe Butts; her brothers, Bob Hale, Bill Hale, and Jerry Hale; and her sister, Joyce Hale, who all remain fondly remembered in the hearts of those who knew her.
A graveside service to honor Rona's life will be held on June 3, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt Kenton Cemetery, located at 2535 Lone Oak Rd, Paducah, Kentucky 42001 with Bro. Jonathan Goodman officiating. Family, friends, and all who were touched by Rona’s presence are invited to gather in celebration of a life well-lived.
Rona Hale Butts leaves behind a legacy of love, grace, and an enduring spirit that inspired everyone around her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
