Shirley Ford

Shirley Ford, 81 of Paducah.  Passed away 8:20 a.m. Saturday February 22, 2014 at Baptist Health. 

A member of Southland Baptist Temple since 1971.  Mrs. Ford was a 20 year retiree of Owen Cleaners.  A sunday school teacher for 20 years, personal worker and door greeter for several years also.  Mrs. Ford is survived by her son, Jimmy D. Ford, of Reidland.  Two daughters, Jane Barger and husband Gene of Reidland, and Patti Rushing and husband Billy of Farley.  One sister Elizabeth Tinsley of Franklin KY. Five grand children, Cheryl Durard and husband Chad of Ledbetter.  Michael Culp and wife Christina of Ledbetter, Jason Rushing and wife Christel of Ballard County, Mandy Evitts and husband Michael Paul of Reidland, and Brandon Rushing and wife Heather of Paducah.  Nine great grand children, Ashley Cagle of Ledbetter, Austin Walters of Metropolis, Tana Durard of Ledbetter, Tara Durard of Reidland, Wesley Culp of Ledbetter, Madison Evitts of Reidland, Macey Evitts of Reidland Carly Rushing of Paducah, Bre Rushing of Ballard County.  Two great great grand children, Noah Lee of  Jaxon Shane of Ledbetter.  Mrs. Ford was proceeded in death by her husband of 49 years Julian.  Her mother Essie Boren, one sister Mary Douglas Finn and a brother Harold Gray Boren.   Mrs. Ford also leaves behind her special Hardees's friends Miss Jeannie Bradley and her beloved cat Izzie & Jr. Colson.  And her Food Giant & Reidland Pharmacy  Buddies of Reidland.  And several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday 1 p.m. at Southland Baptist Temple.  With the Rev. Jimmy Franks and Rev. Topper Council officiating.    Burial to follow at the Fooks Cemetery.  Friends may call from 5 - 8 Monday at Keeling Family Funeral Home.  And from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at Southland Baptist Temple.  Keeling Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 Mamaw, its been over a year and I still miss you like crazy. What I wouldnt do for one more hug and kiss on the forehead from you. You were the glue that holds this family together. I cant wait to see you again one day. You are on my mind daily and I have keep all the great great grandbabies still going with your picture and all the memories I have of you. You left a big mark here on earth and no one can fill your shoes. Love and miss you so much but so glad you arent hurting anymore. Watch over me mamaw cause I need some guidance.  I was very sad when I heard about Shirley. She was a great woman and like a Mother to me. My family and I will miss her very much. We will be praying for the family. RIP Shirley

 Jimmy, Janie, & Patti, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom. She was such a sweet person. Never saw her without a smile. I will always remember our parents Rook card games and how much fun we all had on our many trips to the lake. Will be praying for all of you.
