Shirley L. Weinberg

Shirley L. Weinberg, age 65 of Benton, KY, born Shirley L. Lewis, passed away on September 26, 2026, at Mercy Health Lourdes. She was born on May 20, 1961, in Bridgeton, New Jersey. Shirley was of the Christian faith.  

Shirley will be remembered for the joy she found in being with the people she loved most. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, simply being together, hanging out, and having fun. Those everyday moments of laughter, companionship, and closeness were at the heart of who she was and are among the memories that will remain with those who knew her. She also pursued some college coursework to become a nurse, reflecting a caring spirit and a desire to serve others.

She is survived by her son, Karl Jay Weinberg Jr. (Amoreena) of St. Helena Island, South Carolina; her daughter, Theresa Lewis of Benton, Kentucky; her brother, Ruben Lewis (Cheryl) of Rock Hill, South Carolina; and her sister, Tammy Lewis of Rock Hill, South Carolina. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Veronica Weinberg, Karl J. Weinberg III, Gabrielle Johnson, Justin Weinberg, and Jonathan Lewis, as well as her great-grandchildren, Grace Johnson, Octavia Johnson, Heidi Weinberg, and Noah Weinberg. May her family find comfort in the love they shared with her and in the many memories that will continue to bring her close.

Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Luther Franklin Lewis; her mother, Mima Lee Crocker; her husband, Karl Jay Weinberg Sr.; and her brothers, Dwayne Lewis and Brian Lewis.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives were touched by her presence.
