Vicki Belle Johnson Powers

Matthew 25-21 Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.

These were the words that  Mrs. Vicki Belle Johnson Powers heard as the angles came to carry her to heaven at 2:06 P.M. Thursday January 24, 2013 from the Western Baptist Hospital. Mrs. Powers was a native of Paducah, she was a member of the Gospel Mission Worship Center and was a devoted Daughter, Wife , Mother and Grandmother and a true friend to many. She leaves behind her husband of 51 years Delbert Powers of Reidland. Two daughters, Kim Yates and husband Rick, and  Julie Smith and husband Ted both of Reidland. One son, Andrew ( Andy) Powers and wife Vonda of Reidland. Her father and step mother Ira Earl Johnson and Allen Johnson of Lone Oak. One sister, Aleshia Cron of Paducah and two brothers, Steve Norsworthy of Brookport, IL and Larry Johnson of Lone Oak. Seven grandchildren, Brandi Rogers and husband Chad, Jordan Smith and wife Chelsea, Mitchell Hinzman, Garrett Hinzman, Kennedy Powers, Josie Powers, Andi Powers. She was preceded in death by her mother, Loretta Kreutzer Johnson and one grandchild Cutler Hinzman.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday at the Gospel Mission Worship Center with the Rev. Jim Wright officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Marshall County, Ky. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 5:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. at the Gospel Mission Worship Center and on Sunday from 12:30 P.M. till funeral hour.

 i was at the church in 1979-1984 worked at WPSP-TV a news photog, helded joe turner build that church. Now living back home on Winchester ky still serving our GOD. RETIRED FIRE FIGHTER PARAMEDIC. May god bless an keep you an yours Steve Morris

 We are the family in the waiting room at the hospital from NC. We were so sorry to hear about Mrs. Powers. She must have been a wonderful lady! You showed us how strong your faith is and I am sure your faith will get you through in the days ahead. May God bless you and may you feel His presence and loving arms around you.

 We were in St. Louis this weekend and did not here about Vicki until we got back into town. She was a great - classy lady. She will be missed. Our prayers are with Delbert and the family.

 I will always Love and miss Vicky Powers,The last time i set with her on her front porch,like her husband we talked of god and his comming,she put her hands together in prayer and looked to the sky and said to me with love and eagerness I cant wait.
